ACTIVISM AND WOMEN
For the last decade, I have worked with rural and Indigenous communities in the Amazon of Ecuador, supporting initiatives that resist mining extraction or help families improve their living conditions amidst extraction. I have collaborated with rural and Indigenous women interested in accessing and understanding the legal and governmental frameworks that define how Indigenous communities can access and secure land. As well as facilitating women’s access to information on how extraction, informed consent processes, and the payment of mining compensations take place in the Amazon of Ecuador.
